EVOL!
These guys are great and glad to see they are still out there playing. In college my band opened for them. This was way back in '94 or '95 at the Reptile House (RIP) in Grand Rapids, MI. We thought they were a bunch of country hicks from St. Louis until we heard their sound check and hung out. What a hip bunch of rockers. Their old bass player had this Frankenstein bass: Fender P-Bass neck on a huge, green flying V body, strung left handed. Californiaman
That's pretty nostalgic. Just goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover. I like 'em. Too bad they don't get enough air time around my parts.
EVOL!
They are one of the best Midwest, country rock bands. Right up there with Uncle Tupelo (Brian Henneman was the guitar tech for them), the Jayhawks, Sunvolt, and early Wilco. When this style is done right, nothing beats it. Gotta keep it dirty like those cats in Bottle Rockets. btw, I was wrong. Tom Ray's bass had a left handed neck, strung right handed. This is only photo I could find. Too bad. That bass sure was something to see.
Californiaman
That's a outrageous looking bass. Probably won't see anything like that for a while.
