swatman
My gibson studio has developed a problem recently. when i use the bridge pickup *with the volume knob on 10* the guitar will play at normal volume and then get very low, and then a few seconds later go back to normal volume and it does this so much that the bridge pick up is totally unplayable. My neck pickup is fine however. What should i be soldering/whats the problem with the pickup?
Tman5293
There is nothing wrong with your pickup. It's 9/10 times the pot or soldering thats the problem. You may have to replace the pot or re-solder the pickup connections to the pot.

I rewired the guitar for a different reason, changed out the wires on the toggle switch so in my case the problem is the toggle switch...but I doubt the pickups are causing any problems. Blackie
.........toggle switch..........check how the braided wire from the pickups is threaded around it, sometimes it can cause a short by hitting a connector.

tazzboy
Check all the connection. If they look fine the chance are you might need to replace the toggle switch or Bridge volume pot.
L5Larry
Sounds to me like all you need to do is spray some cleaner/lubricant in the pot. Any Radio Shack has the spray product you need, I believe they call it "Tuner and Control Cleaner Lubricant".
