wardog
Ok, first. I have a epi lp100 sunburst, a dot-natural and a traveler speedster- cherry, in my current collection. I love all of them and really like the dot. Had a dot studio and upgraded to dot. Now. What if mod Part I---Ghostify The Patient- Dot The upgrade- graph tech --Ghost Piezo pickup The parts -Ghost Acousti-Phonic Preamp---- 99.94 item pe-0240-00 -Quickswitch for mag/blend/piezo---26.94-opt* kit with ptramp, quickswitch, and piezo vol pot-166.61 item pe-0111-00 item pk-0240-00 -Piezo Volume Pot with Mid/Dark Tone Switch---48.50-opt* item pe-0206-00 -Ghost Superbridge Tonepros TPFP 6mm Chrome---189.95 item pn-8561-co Cost per graph tech -kit and bridge 356.56 before shipping, tax and cost to upgrade for those of us who would take this to a pro to do. Now, you thoughts and suggestion. Will it be the best acoustic mod to an electric since schecter's c1-ea or is it not worth the cost or effort. Now, don't cheat the quality of the dot or the c1-ea. but, think of the mod and the dot. So what do ya think???????
Lerxst1281733995
It's an interesting idea, but I'm not a big fan of piezo pickups... And that's a monster of a costly mod... You might be better off to buy a guitar with a piezo system already, if that's what you're going for...
wardog
not looking to do mod, just wondering what everyone thought about the mod. Would a higher end hollow or sheraton II be a better patient?
garyelcrrt1281733995
If you were just experimenting (or broke like me!) and wanted to keep costs low, the Dot would do well, but if you were serious about it, consider that the more acoustic sounding guitars are all bigger bodied. I would think maybe a Broadway, or for a really intriging guitar with this modification == check out an Emperor Regent.
