RotcanX Posted August 2, 2008 Share Posted August 2, 2008 We had a Futura EX in the store and overall I'd say they're pretty good; the fit and finish wasn't as good as I would expect and this particular example had three loose pots. When I opened it up to tighten them I was also surprised to find they had used mini pots, which was kind of weird. The fret ends were a bit on the rough side but other than that it played well and the EMG pickups were an obvious step up from the standard Epi HBs. I played the LP with the Dirty Fingers pickups at the local Guitar Center last week, I thought it had it's ups and downs. I love the feel of the satin finish neck and the look of the quilt top. However, I'm not a big fan of the chambered bodies and the lack of independent tone/volume controls. Just my opinion though, some folks just love them. I think the Elitist is still far better.
