k3ng5hu1
My Epiphone guitar has a load of tuning problems. It goes out of tune in practically seconds... the strings are about a week old so they r not old but neither are they really new. Any idea of how i can fix this tuning problem? It feels as though my machine heads(grovers) aren't very tight but that's just a guess.
mrjones200x
New strings can take a while to settle in longer than a week. When you put on your new strings did you stretch them quite a bit? Tune it then stretch then tune again. I do this about three times. My machine heads felt quite loose when i got them so it did tighten the screw on the end but not to much just so the werent really loose. When you tune up does the string make pop noises or ping? If so it might be getting caught in the nut and it could do with some lube. People on here generally say to use graphite it the nut slots. (Pensil lead is fine) Hope that might help

EpiSheriMan
Two words...NUT SAUCE,....it's the only way!
Trojon
Careful EpiSheriMan this post may disappear. A few of mine disappeared after mentioning the infamous Nut Sauce but it's a darn good product. I use another from GHS called Graphitall same thing but much cheaper.
