ProphecyEM2FX85
I am a total noob to this. I know some of you know about these. Where do the batteries go do they go behing the plate on the back or do i have to remove the pick ups? Also my pups also have a passive operation will that save on battery life? How long to they last and what kinda batteries should i use when i do replace them? Sorry for all the questions just wanna know what i am getting into. And i know those of you that have seen my other threads the pups will be the EpiActives.
davidg3333
Batteries are replaced behind the plate. it would be terribly inefficient to have to take off your strings and yank out a pick up in order to replace battery. Alkaline will do, lithium would probably last the longest.
jody mauk
EMG's last up to 3000 hours.but make sure you unplug the guitar when not in use...leaving the guitar plugged in will drain the batts.
ef_in_fla
I use a fresh energizer or duracell and write the date on the battery when I install it. After about a year I change it just to be on the safe side. If you play yours daily you may not get a whole year out of a battery.
SkEpTiKaL
Most of the guitars I've seen that are equipped with EMG actives have a separate compartment for the 9V. It's a little plastic piece, like on the back of a graphing calculator or a remote, that lifts open to expose the battery cavity. Really easy replacement, don't even worry about it.
