does loop d jr play nicely with the typical tweed tone control ?

Recommended Posts

Hello

I've got the prewired loop d jr. I would like to know if there are any pitfalls to avoid in installing it in conjunction with a typical tweed tone mod in a valve junior.

For example - Are the pot values critical ? Should I expect the tone control to work at both jack positions of the loop d jr ? Any screening required for excessive noise? etc etc.

I'm sure this will be a tried and tested combination for some of you guys.

Thanks in anticipation.

No pitfalls. There was a version of the Loop-D-Junior that came with a tweed tone called the Tone-D-Junior.

If there's a problem with one of your FX processors, that could theoretically put DC voltage in the signal, which can cause scratchy sounds when adjusting the volume pot. The simple solution is to use a cap between the volume pot's wiper and the grid of the next preamp stage. I've never had to resort to this.
