metalhed717 Posted December 31, 2008 Share Posted December 31, 2008 well i finally got the pickups ive been wanting FOREVER and they sound great! i put a dimarzio evolution in the bridge and humbucker from hell in the neck. the evo sounds like an EMG 81 with my metal zone, but with my amp overdrive i can get a great rock sound from cream to zeppelin to ac/dc. the hb from hell has a great clean sound and again sounds like an emg in the neck position w/ the mt-2. lemme tell you if it werent for that smooth satin neck on my prophecy theres a good chance it'd be collectin dust! RobinTheHood Posted January 1, 2009 Share Posted January 1, 2009 Congrats on the new pickups! I've recently jumped on to the Dimarzio train as well. I just put in a x2n (bridge) and a Super-2 (neck) in my G310. They produce a great sound, despite the guitar I put them in. I had been looking at EMG-HZ passives for a while, but found the Dimarzios used for a great price. I'm totally sold on them now. It's almost like paying a whole new guitar and has quelled my GAS for the time being. Have fun rocking out on those new PUPs. I know I will.
