Big Chipper Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 I bought a black SG Custom for my son for Christmas (black with triple humbuckers - the Les Paul SG). I'm not a guitarist, so pardon my ignorance, but what does the three position switch do on this guitar? Does each position switch an individual pickup? Charles Obscure Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 Ah, you have an eye for beauty, my friend! There are 3 volume controls and 1 master tone control. With all the volume knobs up, and the switch in any position, the middle pickup is always ON. Switch down= mid + bridge Switch middle= all 3 Switch up= mid + neck If you turn the mid pup volume all the way off, the switching functions like a 2 pickup guitar.
