Dove Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Just bought a new Sheraton II 2008 (MIM Korea Ebony). This is my first new guitar. I noticed that there are a few finish cracks on the neck where the fret is set into the neck (very minor but noticable) on three frets. Is this normal for a new guitar? It appears when the the fret was placed into the neck the finish cracked (white binding) right at the edge. Will this get any worse over time? Any info would be great Thank you. wrighty3693 Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 This should not get worse but is fairly common on some guitars that are bound but only later ina guitars lifetine. This should not get worse but can be repaired very easily and cheaply so get it done now before the binding discolours. This is not covered under warranty.
