TehLesPaulZorz Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Hello everyone, I'm thinking about buying a new bass for my friend. But it needs a short scale length because he's got really small hands. I can't get the EB-0 because there is pretty much only one sound. If they had a short scale EB-3, that would be perfect, but alas they don't. I need an under $400 bass with different sounds
floydpink7 Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 If you really want the EB-0 with different sounds, you could get some effects pedals. That'll get you the extra sounds you need. But I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find another kind of bass for your friend. If he tries it out, likes it, and it's comfortable: Then go for it.
jchevalier Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 There are several other short scale Epiphone basses you might consider. The Viola bass is around $300. The Alan Woody is a little over $400. Both have 2 pickups so there is some tonal variation. The single pickup in the EB0 might suprise you. I have a mid 90s single pickup Rivoli that I picked up for around $400 that with a little eq works just fine for most classic rock.
