Calvinizer
I originally wrote this in the accessories section so sorry if you've seen it twice, a nice member told me to move it here for better luck. Thanks I've just bought an Epiphone Les Paul Custom and I was wondering if there was anyway of getting a scallpoed fretboard for it? If there is can someone link me the site or whatever it is, thanks a bundle.
Lord Summerisle
How are your wood-working skills? http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/scal1.htm Or do you know a skilled luthier who could undertake this task for you?
davidg3333
Don't do it unless this is a project guitar. I really don't see what advantage scalloping gives one - I suppose it is for string bending?
Calvinizer
That and when I played on a scalloped neck I felt more comfortable and I seemed to be able to find notes more easily. I don't know if that makes sense but I just feel more control over the guitar with scallopes.
Lord Summerisle
...I suppose it is for string bending? ...just bend the neck instead. Even more fun! (just ask Slash).
