intonation

Depending on the kind of music you play, "spot-on" intonation may be more or less important to you. If it is crucial, setting the intonation on the high and low E's may be just a starting point. In this case you need an accurate tuner, and should go over all the strings to find the best compromise overall.

If you are REALLY fussy, you could replace it with a tunamatic. You can get complete assemblies, including rosewood base, online.

Try the compromise approach first, though. It may be good enough. Be aware that things will change if you change string gauges. Also, to keep your bridge position, you should change strings one at a time. Cheers.

PS-Congrats on your new guitar! Enjoy!
