dylenoung
New to forum and new owner of a Broadway - great looking/sounding guitar. Setup, frets, binding all top notch. I was wondering if other B'way player had any recommendations for strings. I assume the factory set are 10's or 11's - any opinions about heavier gauge, wound G string, flat wounds? I'm playing through a '65 Reissue Deluxe Reverb aiming for a classic jazz tone. Other gear: Elitist Dot (Cherry), Casino (Nat'l), Custom Tele FMT HH, Vox AD50VT. L1Picker
Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new guitar. I have a Elite Broadway and an Emperor Regent and prefer Thomastik Infeld Jazz Swing 12's on mine.
dylenoung
Thanks - I've visited the forum tons of time, but thought it was time to join. I've had the good fortune to play an Elite B'way and Emperor Regent before - both were great. Wish they hadn't dropped the Elitist line - I really wanted a sunburst Byrdland. I'll look into those strings. When you put the heavier guage on your guitar did you need to do a setup for neck/intonation adjustment?

Gashole
I'll look into those strings. When you put the heavier guage on your guitar did you need to do a setup for neck/intonation adjustment? If the difference is very much, you would usually need to. .. Going from .11 to .12, maybe you could get away with not...would depend on the guitar's level of finickyness. You'll know shortly after changing them!
