Well guys as mentioned before i scored an AJ500m last weekend in the uk. it is so lovely man.

But it didnt come (as hinted by other forumites) with bone nut or saddle - it looked plastic so i got in touch with gibson europe who reinforced that they were plastic. They also said that the pins were standard size.

anyway. So when ordering replacement nuts and saddles ( i'll do it online and give to my luthier - yeah , i keep him in a drwer under the bed) what am i asking for - is it a bone compensated saddle? nut size? And as far as pin size goes, whaddya think?

thanks i advance.

Hmm. In the US, the saddles are compensated bone, or always have been until now.

There was a thread about this here not too long ago; several members tested their saddles with a hot pin to confirm they were bone (the hot pin will penetrate plastic but not bone).
