myztk
Just received my new (20004 Unsung) Wildkat today. Typical tuning issues. I noticed that three saddles are facing one way and three saddles are facing the opposite way. Might have been an attempt by the previous owner to keep in tune or intonated. Which way should they face? Thanks. PICS to come
Red 333
Typically, the flat side of the saddles on the three strings of the treble side (1-2-3) face the headsock. The flat side of the saddles face the stop bar on the three strings on the bass side (4-5-6). The saddles can travel further in the direction the flat side is facing, which is the direction usually required to intonate the guitar. myztk
Well, a new set of 10-46 and some liberal string stretching really seemed to help this baby out. She's smoking now! I have been G.A.S.ing for this for a while, so I'm going to work through the minor issues, because she looks and sounds like a ton'o'fun!
