StreakyPete
...One Giant leap into the dark for me! Depite dire warning as to the potential consequences, I finally lost my patience and dived head first into the pesky eBay market and bought myself a Korean built Les Paul Standard. I went slightly over my budget of £150 and ended up paying £205. (what's that in $'s - about $300-ish?) It comes with a hard-backed 'Gator' case, so I guess it's reasonably priced. Prices for used Standards have been anything from £165 up to £240 The seller lived reasonably local and was happy to let me try it out before I made a bid on it. Just my luck, this is one of 'those' weeks - I've been roped into looking after the grandchildren, and I'm also painting the house, so I couldn't find time to try 'er out before the auction ended. However, I got into a prolonged dialogue with the seller. He gave me a potted history of the axe, along with loads of new photos. For the same time constraints, I'm unable to pick the guitar up until tomorrow night. I'll have to wait until then to discover if I've made the classic mistake. I have a good feeling about this though, following talks with the seller, I'm pretty certain that it'll be fine. Once I get the wee beastie home and give it a cuddle, I'll try to figure out how to post pics of it. I'm pretty calm about this - only 27hrs 45mins to go :-
