Bender 4 Life Posted May 11, 2010 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Well gang, it was groovy while it lasted, but last night one of the "KreamKey" buttons I had installed came off in my hand during a simple pre-play tune up.........no biggie.......I have more Grovers. The ones that fit the guitar were gold though, and the buttons had 1/2 to 2/3 of the plating missing......... I wondered if the '56s origional chrome buttons would work on the gold bodies.......Ohhhh Yeahhhhh!!!!! Viola !.........now the GT has gold bodied Grover 12-1s.........with chrome buttons, bushings, and washers. It actually looks GOOD ! And it'll be easier to identify if I ever need to. I also saved the tuners that came off it, i'll try later to remove the buttons & re-use the bodies........... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
