jammybstard
Has anyone come accross this one before? I have a Riviera that's stock with single-coil P94s in the neck and bridge; my wiring is pretty-much standard with the addition of some trebble bleed caps on the Volume pots. I've changed out the Bridge PUp for a Humbucker (2 wire BurstBucker) and not changed anything else. In either bridge or neck positions the guitar sounds fine (great in fact; the burstbucker is sweet!) but in the middle position the volume drops and the sound is thin. I'm thinking I'm getting some sort of cancelation effect from having the two pups out of phase, but as many of you know fiddling with the electronics in an arch top is not a 5 min job so I wanted to check here first. Do you think I just need to reverse the polarity of one of the PUps?
Hungrycat
You nailed it. They're out of phase.
CajunBlues
HungryCat... I remember this happened to me one time when I changed my magnets... And the solution had something to do with the orientation of the magnets... Do you think this would solve his problem ? I would also try asking this question over on the Seymour Duncan forum... They have a lot of pickup geeks trolling the board over there...
