CajunBlues
I finally got my Bryan Gunsher P90s yesterday... I had already replaced all the electronics with CTS pots, Switchcraft switch, and I used speaker wire from Ace Hardware... The new pickups sound basically just like Gibsons if you ask me... The only difference is the BG's do have better balance of highs/mids/lows... Definitely an improvement over the stock .... The new pots provide a much better spectrum/variety of tone... The pickups are certainly better than the original epiphones... I would love to get up a video of how it sounds... but my digital camera doesn't do any guitar justice with its horrible audio recording quality. http://members.cox.net/emma1234/les%20paul%20special%20002.JPG http://members.cox.net/emma1234/les%20paul%20special%20003.JPG http://members.cox.net/emma1234/les%20paul%20special%20004.JPG http://members.cox.net/emma1234/les%20paul%20special%20005.JPG http://members.cox.net/emma1234/les%20paul%20special%20006.JPG http://members.cox.net/emma1234/les%20paul%20special%20007.JPG
Darren W
Good work What value caps did you use? What type of pots did you use for Vol and Tone, linear/audio. Just wondering for my own uses. Im always looking to fiddle around and like to see what others use.

My solders became so much nicer after buying a more powerful soldering iron... I used all CTS 500k pots... Audio taper... Here is the EXACT kit I bought: http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/PK3S/Gibson-Guitar-Electronics-Super-Kit-w-CTS-Precision-Tolerance-Pots.html That speaker wire is nice and beefy and solders very nicely... The tinned copper seems to solder a bit easier... But the bare copper is nice too.. This may sound weird but really like to work with electronics... I love tinkering with the wiring in my guitars too. Its amazing the difference CTS pots make... Guitar electronics has become my go-to source for pots (i prefer CTS300k), replacement parts and Graphtech products. Lovely guitar. I didnt even know that model existed in the epiphone world

[/quote'] They have their shop here in Phoenix.. They used to be about 200 yards from my work.. until we moved across town... But they are still close enough for me to go down there... They also do some great luthier work...

CajunBlues
Speaker wire? please explain the benefit over other choices. speaker wire is cheap and it was available at the time when I needed it... Any kind of thin gauged wire will do
