Zomby,

The Clymer Indian Enfield (1 of 10 built) in Barbers Motorcycle Museum (birmingham, AL) was mine when I was 14.

My dad made me sell it after too many get offs and drops. I had to sell it for $700, the guy who sold it to Barber's sold it for $25K. Dad planned to be the B'ham Indian/ BMW dealer until Clymer's untimely demise!

My mom maintains that Dad's a boob!

I went to what he thought was a smaller bike. A Kawasaki Mach III.

Those Harley guys never understand what fast really is!

Only ever dealt with one Harley - a '69 Sportster that I ended up taking care of for a friend who went into the army. Main thing I recall about it was it darn near broke my leg when I tried to kick it off on a cold morning.

Cool Harley story though - my wife's uncle bought himself a new Harley back in the 1950s with money he earned from his first real job. He loved that bike and rode up to the time he had his first kid after which he had to sell it to raise some needed money. The guy who bought the bike never resold it. About 30 later the wife and the kid bought the Harley back and gave it to him as a birthday present.
