bobrollar
So I was playing my SG today and went to switch from one pickup to the next and it felt like it was stuck, it would switch, but I would have to use a little force, and it made a popping sound. So I took the cover off the back, looked at all the components of the switch and nothing looks out of place. Anyone ever see or experience this problem before. It still plays fine, but if I want to use a different pickup its just very frustrating. Any thing at this point will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Blackie
Did you move the switch around while loking at it close up ?
bobrollar
Ya when I was switching it and looking at it closely I didn't see anything out place?? I put some arrows to where I think the problem might be, but to me, it seems like its all in place. Ill try and take some more pictures. It almost feels like something might be sticky in there, but I know there isn't.
Nick Beach
I had that problem, it pissed me off until I just changed it.
pippy
I've experienced a similar problem (although it was not on a Gibson). It was caused by the wire 'axle' around which the selector lever pivots becoming knocked out of position at one end, thereby causing the lever to be seated at a slight angle. This was enough to cause the lever to jam.
bobrollar
I had that problem, it pissed me off until I just changed it. I was looking on Gibson site and the part doesn't look very expensive, how hard can it be to replace it? Any soldering involved? Thanks everyone!
