Hans H Rasmussen
Hi all, I think this should be the right place for something like this. I was hoping you could help me find out what material this old nut from my Gibson J60 from 1997 is made out of? I believe it is the original nut. Notice how the nut is in part "hollow" as seen in the last of these pics: http://www.hhrasmussen.dk/nut1.JPG http://www.hhrasmussen.dk/nut2.JPG http://www.hhrasmussen.dk/nut3.JPG Thanks! I think yoda is correct; ar least that's what the current specs are saying the nut material is. However, I didn't know it was a Dupont product. The house I live in now used to belong to a person who worked for Dupont when they had a factory here in Newburgh, NY. This place was loaded with Dupont s**t. I've been slowly but surely removing/replacing what I can because a lot of that stuff was carcinogenic.
