hotrod128z
Hi. I have a Gibson Explorer that was made in 1983. Through extensive research I have only found one bit of information that has labeled the model that I have. What I have is what is called the Explorer 1. She is ebony in color but the woods is what makes her. She has a mahogany body and a maple neck. 3 knobs in standard straight line configuration. Bidge is Kahler stud mount and the bridge is labeled Kahler U.S.A. and "PAT. APP'D FOR" and came factory with a Floyd Rose locking bar on the headstock right under the Gibson "half bell" truss rod cover. Tuners are 6 inline(of course), factory Gibson. Fretboard is rosewood. Pick ups are original Dirty Fingers in the neck and now I have a Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge. As stated the body is mahogany and the neck is maple. Does anyone else here have one of these or more information on how many of these were made? hotrod
