ok, so must of you know i scored a natural ibjl casino from musician's friend for $400 bucks. Yes, i did well , bad bridge pup solder!!! well it looks like it is the pup that is bad. I would love to take it in to a pro but not sure if it would be cost effective to just purchase another pup. problem is, i am not sure what pup to get.

per details these are gibson usa single coil. is that the same as the one you can get of musicians friend site? or gibsons site. I assume the pups are a matched set. when the pup was working properly it read 8.5 along with the neck.

So, do i get a whole new set?

do i just get a pup for bridge?

or try to see if I can get the bridge fixed. not sure why it goes out. must be a break in the winding. i can tap the pup with screwdriver and get noise but, no sound on strum [confused]

The EP-90 pickup is used in both the Elitist and IBJL. You might try calling Gibson's customer service & explain your circumstances. Maybe they'll sell you one at a good price. The bridge & neck pickups are both labeled EP-90, so you'd want be specific re the bridge unit.

AFAIK, Gibson doesn't sell them in chrome, and I think only bridge pickups. You could get yours rewound, or maybe you could buy a new Gibson P-90 and swap covers.

I know Kent Armstrong a set in proper Casino configuration, and their bridge pickup is rated 8.2K so it would be about the same as your pickup.
