Quietly
I would be interested if anyone can give me more information about this guitar. I believe it was purchased new in 1999 by the previous owner but there is no serial number on the guitar. I know those made by Samick often had a stick on serial number that mostly got removed. The birds eye maple top is absolutely stunning and I have been told this was a De Luxe version of the SST. I have been unable to find another one that looks the same. Oh the tuners have been replaced but I have the originals. Any information on this guitar would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I like the older ones with the faux soundhole better than the newer models. jonnyg
I've got a later model from 2003. Picked it up for £80.00 a couple of years ago. I've seen a few black ones but I've only ever come across this one in natural wood finish. It's quite nice to play but the sound is nothing like an electro/acoustic sound to my ears. jerrymac
Many thanks that's great were they manufactured by Samick in Korea? Can't say for sure. If it is a 1999, I would be inclined to think it was made by one of the other Korean manufactures (Saien, Unsung, Peerless). Samick filed for bankruptcy in 1996, and I'm not certain Epiphone was even using Samick in the late 90s. In fact, as part of their restructuring, Samick shut down their Korean plant at some point and now have a tremendous factory in Indonesia. BTW, the one I had didn't have a serial # either. Well, if you're going to keep it, you won't be needing the Duesenberg anymore, right??? I'll be glad to take it off you're hands!!! It looks like a Mike Campbell with an alligator finish. A lot cooler than the blue and white, and that's a pretty damn cool guitar...
