Sorry, I should have made myself more clear. I meant the controls themselves, as in the "guts". Each volume and tone control has a code stamped on them that will tell when it was made and therefore has the potential to affirm or refute a guessed vintage. I wouldn't advocate removing them just for that however, as taking them out of a hollow body is a royal pain. I don't know if the sig model had an access panel in the back but if it did, that would be an easy way to see them.

 

No idea as to value. It might be worth the $50 to have Gruhn appraise it (gruhn.com). Keep in mind the value he places on it is largely optimistic and is for insurance purposes. In other words, it's a lie. In the real world the market value is about 60% of what he will appraise it at. That's on a retail sale on a good day.
