Dot pickup swap

Thinking of putting GFS pu's in my Dot. Is the switch the only electronics I need to hook up to? seems it would be easier than pulling the pots.

also, is there enough wire to pull the switch through the F hole??

Yes, but if you're going to all that trouble why not replace the electronics too? Some folks here have found that upgrading the electronics made the stock Epi pickups sound so much better that they've left them in.

You'll have to pull the pots either way - the pickup (grounds) are soldered to them and to the swtich.

Yes. And the switch and output jack should be replaced with Switchcraft while you're at it.

Gibson/Epi wiring goes from the Pickups to the pots and then to the switch, this is neccessary for the "Mixing board" control scheme to work.
