brianh
A new entry on eBay for a black Genesis Standard in New York: http://cgi.ebay.com/...ME:B:SS:US:1123 Looks to be all original but fairly well used and no case. Also appears to be a factory 2nd. At asking price, it appears that the seller had a few too many hits on the crack pipe. In my experience, Standards in decent shape sell for around $300, Deluxes for around $400 and Customs for $500 to $600 depending on condition. Much more than that and you should at least get an original case and free shipping. This one is worth maybe $250 IMHO.
eggs
s***b & o***9 won;t win, they never do. It'll be somebody with a Powersnipe account.... Useful numbers on your last post Brian... thanks for that... but US$271.60 was indeed where this one stopped, with s***b taking the prize. For sure o***9 would be calling s***b an "s***b"! Cheers,
brianh
Just watch, s***b will be checking in in the next few days wanting to know about the guitar they just bought. Or, it's one of us that managed to keep their bid on the down low. Time will tell...
animalfarm
Wasn't me, Wasn't me! I bailed out when another deal came my way - Looks like I'll be locally grabbing a mid/late 90's CRATE amp: Crate Vintage Club 50W 2X12 Class A/B Tube Blonde Tolex Amplifier $100.00, fully functional. Owner is tired of lugging around a 70lb 2 x 12? I've read the reviews, it's a 50% split between LOVE it/HATE it! Tube 4-EL84's in the power stage and 4-12AX7EH's in preamp. But, that's another thread. This one is about "Da Genesis".
brianh
Here's a clever and relatively inexpensive way to resurrect a beat up old Geni: http://cgi.ebay.com/...#ht_8887wt_1347 Since it's just the basic Standard model, will probably never be worth much more than $300 even with the fret job, but it doesn't have a cracked control cavity and appears to have the original pickups. The solid mahogany body takes well to an oil finish. I'll bet it plays real nice.
jadedbat
sweet :) I know how good that thing sounds! It's odd mine has this same 'over spray' action going on right there as well.. almost like a speckle... http://screencast.com/t/rJIg9VE3 I thought it was just mine. Wonder what it is.
