rjspurling
I bought a 2007 explorer (76 reissue) second hand off ebay. It arrived today. The pickup switch will not stay in the bridge or neck position. It simply flicks back to the middle position. In the pics I was shown before purchasing, the switch is in the bridge position. So, I'm thinking maybe it happened during shipping, where too much weight was placed on the case which pushed down on the switch. I took the switch out and took some photos. You can see in the second photo that when I click the switch, the black part does not move over the metal lip enough for it to hold position. I was wondering if you guys could look at my photos and see if anything looks different than usual (this is my first gibson). I don't understand what has gone wrong. rjspurling
I decided I'd try filing a small amount off the bottom of the black part. The switch works fine now. Thanks.
