SouthpawPicker
I just took delivery of a beautiful Les Paul Standard Custom (Southpaw). Flawless workmanship. It's a work of art. Does anybody know what the default strings are on this model or is there some place I can check that online? They feel a big thick and muted for my tastes, so I was going to replace with Gibson Brite Wires, Light Gauge 10 - 46, that I use on another Gibson. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. uyasgali
Most Gibsons come with 10-46 brite wires. You probably just need new strings period.
JazzGtr
LP factory strings are Brite Wire 10-46's. The strings are old and weathered. Just replace with D'addario 10's and you'll really hear this puppy scream. I replace my strings every three months if I'm not gigging. If gigging, every gig.
