schizophrenica
Hey guys wonder if you know any decent free drum softwares. I liked beatcraft acoustica but the price is a bit steep (USD X4 for my currency). Not doing anything pro, just messing round with laptop and stuff. Any ideas? I use Kristal as my recording software. Thanks
Guest BentonC
Don't know of any good free ones- but EZDrummer by Toontracks isn't terribly expensive (try catching it on sale), and it is incredible.

Kristal will load VSTi's, 3. You're not looking for a standalone drum machine with patterns included. If that's correct then here's a link to just about every free drum software/player there is out there (and probably some that aren't). https://docs.google.com/View?docID=dfdrp6zd_12fdz9x32d&revision=_latest&hgd=1 If you're interested in acoustic drums then you should get the free Shortcircuit 1.1.2 sampler from here http://vemberaudio.se/shortcircuit.php (Don't get v2 it's unfinished and not as good) and team it up with a nice free Ludwig kit from here http://www.analoguedrums.com/products.php (the kit is called Big Mono) There are a ton of drum samples/kits available for loading into Shortcircuit here's a link to a page with links to just some of them http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2010/06/24/free-sample-shootout-2-acoustic-drums-full-kits/ The Kontakt free player comes with a couple of drum kits. Note that you can use all the factory sounds they give you as normal but you can only use third party kits (such as Big Mono) for 15 minutes at a time. It's still a good deal for free though. http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/kontakt-player/?page=781 You could always try KVR and search for drums or sample players etc http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php That should keep you going for a while. If you go for Shortcircuit and can't figure it out post back here and I'll see if I can help.

Too bad I'm not on PC and don't have VST compatibilty, otherwise I'd be downloading tonight...
