andydufresne
Hello all, this forum is full with knowledgeable people, so I thought you could help me. I've just ordered a Masterbilt DR-500ME and I'm not sure what kind of electronics it will ship with. Some reviews mention a L.R. Baggs UST with soundhole controls and some praise the eSonic2 system it comes with (also stated on Epiphone website). I have seen online photos with eSonic2 (2 outputs, Nanomag pick-up clearly visible) and photos without eSonic2 (one output, soundhole control visible, definitely no Nanomag installed - I assume it is the Baggs element). Even the vendor I ordered from (Thomann.de, which is a reputable European instrument seller) is confusing - they state that it has eSonic 2, while the pictures say otherwise - clearly, there is no Nanomag installed. I've asked them, but haven't had an answer yet. So, until I have it in my own hands, roughly a week, I'm not sure what will I get. Any information is welcome and I'm glad to have found this forum. andydufresne
It appears so. Their guitar tech checked and it's eSonic (2).
meanstreak
I'd change it to the Baggs if it were me....
Gary622
I have a relatively new DR-500MCE (should be the same guitar, except mine has the cutaway). Definitely eSonic. And to each their own, but I really like the pickup system.
