Plastic P90 covers

Hi there,

I've heard plastic p90 covers make a big difference to the sound? Is this true? What experience has anyone had with this?

I'm looking at getting one of the new '61 casinos and want it to be sufficiently different to my AIUSA '65 lennon to justify the ££££s.

cheers,

Jonny

j2o,

This is from Jason Lollar's website.

CASINO

The Epiphone Casino (also the Wildcat) is a "whole different animal" although it looks a lot like a standard dogear set.

Your first decision is whether or not you want to use the chrome covers. Something to consider is that with plastic covers the pickup will have a little more high endthe metal covers will reduce the top end a little bit. Also, the metal covers have a tendency to feed back microphonically, even if the pickups are potted to an extreme.

I went from chrome to plastic covered P-90s on my Casino, but I went to a whole different pickup, so it would be difficult to say how much difference the cover made.
