charlie brown
+1 But, I don't think he's underrated, with those that know who his is, anyway. Great player...period! But, yeah...especially, with his "circumstance!" Another one, "gone too soon!" But, there have been a lot of great players, even "Classical" composers, with similar "handicaps," that have excelled, far beyond expectations. Just goes to show, what anyone can do, if they put their mind, and talents, to it! I've often wondered, too...IF they would have done as well, if they were "normal," without their "circumstance" being a "proving," or propelling factor? Jantha
Jeff Healey was pretty pretty damn good. I have to admit though.. I thought this thread was going to be about this underrated guitarist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiHW32XJHHA
A add9
I would say to some degree being blind could be a "propelling factor" given the fact that there is less periphreral distraction, and one becomes more attuned to feel, and sound. However, I believe he's very underrated. +1 But, I don't think he's underrated, with those that know who his is, anyway. Great player...period! But, yeah...especially, with his "circumstance!" Yea, I suppose he did back then. He doesn't seem to get much love these days though. Jeff Healey is impressive though. I can't imagine learning to play guitar blind. Guest rogerb
He laid it flat on his lap, bet that gave him incredible reach. Thumbs Carlisle played the same way. Music begins around 1:
