EBM 5 sighting

Are you thinking about getting this, Stu?

Here is some info I can tell you by just looing at the pics:

It is an early model, probably 1991-1993. You can tell by the headstock. The later models had 3x2 tuners instead of the straight 5 in a row. These necks are superb and look to to better than the late models.

I can tell by the wear on the gold PUP covers that this bass has seen some real play-time...which means that the electronics are probably scratchy. A common problem for even new electronics on an EBM. It gets worse as the instrument ages. But this bass would probably be great with a set of active Bartolinis or passive Fender P/Js.

The battery cover looks to me missing a screw or has a black replacement screw. Either way, the battery cover screw holes were drilled pretty poorly on these and tend to strip out and break because they are too close to the edge of the wood. I know this because both of my EBMs and my Expert-6 are like this. Its common.

So far the price looks great and assuming there are no neck issues, I'd be tempted to get it if I was in the market for another EBM.
