fretplay
i've been offered a Gibson Es175 made in 1962 It is sunburst all original with case and excellent condition. The guy who owns it has asked me to make an offer, what do you guys think?
JimR56
Use the internet to search what they've sold for (ebay, for example), and what prices are being asked by dealers (Gbase, for example) and private parties (ebay, Craigslist). Then, since the seller hasn't set a price*, go ahead and offer them something below what you're willing to pay. You can always up your offer. * I think that people really should try to price what they're selling. If they don't, they kind of deserve to be low-balled to some degree. Versatile
Is this an internet trade? Take care with a thoroughbred purchase like an ES 175...insisting on a no-quibble return if not satisfied... Otherwise enjoy the game The current production is pretty good too... V
dougg330
Also, make sure you check the EBay completed listings to see the actual selling price. I hear people constantly saying "I saw the same thing on EBay for $2,000" - but the item was listed at $2000 and never sold because it was too high.
