thejonfarrell
Hello I purchased an Epiphone Les Paul Studio Limited Edition Custom Shop guitar from a local guitar shop. The serial number is 311557114. Just above the SN stamped into the wood is USED. Could someone explain why the USED is stamped into the guitar? Is it a customer return? Also I cant find specs on the hardware for this guitar. Any idea where to look for detailed list of hardware, wood, etc. Thanks for any help. Jon

diverden
Its alpine white with a black pick-guard all gold hardware. Factory Seconds must be sold as USED. Refurbished may be marked used or have a paper serial number taped over the original.
thejonfarrell
This guitar has a gold/copper colored piece of tape with a black printed serial number on it. its possible it has been applied over an original SN. So most likely my guitar is a refurb?

So most likely my guitar is a refurb? Yes, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Many are fine. http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Electrics/Les-Paul.aspx Just click on the appropriate model and you can get the specs.
