bluezguy Posted August 1, 2012 Share Posted August 1, 2012 I've had a huge love/hate relationship with my current 'bird ( ) for almost 10 years now. The time has come to GUT the ceramic pickups completely and try an Alnico build with 42 guage wire. I am convinced my '76 FBV was so much better sounding than the current one and those magnets were Alnico5 (I believe). Anyways, I seek published information on these pickups (as in a Book) as there is TOO MUCH varience on the internet for me to invest the time and money into such a tedious project. No thanks to all the custom builders out there. This isn't rocket science and I can't justify their prices. If it ain't GIBSON, it will be made by meB) .
