frankthedog
I recently got this pickup in a trade and need some help identifying exactly what it is. It appears to be an older Gibson humbucker. I would like to know: 1. If it is a Gibson 2. What model it is 3. How old it might be Any help would be greatly appreciated
Ryan H
Looks like a late 60's Gibson Patent Number pickup. An interesting fact is that the Patent Number is not the one for the pickup, but for the Trapeze Tailpiece that Les Paul designed. It's pretty valuable. Looks like it's Pre T-Top. retrorod
Does not look Gibson to me.
Ryan H
Does not look Gibson to me. Has the Gibson Patent Number, for the Les Paul trapeze tailpiece, which is period correct for the late 60's. EDIT: Don't know what to say about the Double Screw bobbin though. That's odd.
frankthedog
From what I can find , this appears to me to be a mid 80's Dirty Fingers - those had double screw bobbins.
retrorod
Bingo Frank!....I believe ya Nailed em'. The double screw poles is something I had not seen on Gibson. Darn, new-fangled stuff....
