iwalktheline
Hey guys, a few weeks back I switched my epiphone hummingbird for a epiphone ej-200. I tried to figure out the date of the guitar using the guitar dater website but it comes back unrecognized. This guitar has a brown label with the serial number on the sticker inside the sound hole. It is also stamped used on the back of the headstock. Here is the serial #311567241, I know it was made in China. It had a sticker on it stating that. I just want to try and get some sort of date on it. Thanks in advance for any replies.
RobinTheHood
I'd like to say that it was made in March of 2011, but I'm not familiar with this serial layout. But that is the most sense I can make out of it. I know that in 2011 or 2012, Epiphone changed the serials again, this time to eliminate the factory code over the stigma of Chinese built guitars and the eternal Korea VS. China arguments. Maybe someone with better knowledge of current serials will know for sure.
Jason Haralson
I have an ej-200ce and was checking another one out at a local music shop with a used sticker on it like yours. I think that when they put a used sticker on their guitars they put a different serial number on it than what it originally came with.
