capmaster Posted July 9, 2016 Share Posted July 9, 2016 Funny how I stumble into this old thread now, given the fact that I play .011" - .050" with plain G3rd on all my hardtail guitars including hardtail LPs since a long time. The nut grooves work fine for .011s. On principal I would like .012s that I use on my ES guitar, but preferring plain G3rds for bendings I went with .011s on solid-bodies. My vibrato guitars are strung .010" - .046" including my Alex Lifeson Axcess LP. Other than on basses I partly strung flatwound, I currently use roundwounds only on guitars.
