JuanCarlosVejar
I've been waiting for gibson to reissue the original L 5 acoustic archtop guitar . but it hasn't happened so the other option is to go vintage but how easy or how hard is it really to converted a righty gibson archtop to a lefty ?. I'm only considering the 20's and 30's models because later on they started putting cutaways on the L5's . thanks JC
L5Larry
Gibson HAS built some original style L-5 reissues in the past. I see them frequently on e-bay. As for the conversion, you will have to have a new nut and bridge made and installed. A non-cutaway archtop is probably the easiest type of guitar to convert to lefty. Larry , What about the bracing ? Is it symetrical ? JC
L5Larry
I do not know how the first design 16" L-5's were braced. The 17" "Advanced" models are/were parallel braced.
