AustinNoName Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 ... I went to a gig last night by a chap called John Etheridge - I must confess I didn't know too much about him (I fel sure I've just been ignorant of him until now, ao apologies for looking like a right laggard!) , but it was great. Gypsy jazz a la Jango Reinhart, some African influences and Jimi Hendrix. Boy this guy can play! All in a small venue with circa 100 people in, with great acoustics. Sorry its not a specific thread for the forum, but hopefully you may enjoy it: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9sZOen23_8M http://www.johnetheridge.com/ His support act was pretty useful too, Taylor n'all! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lkyWz142qmo
jannusguy Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 give a listen to the robin nolan trio if you're fan of the le jazz hot style. these guys tear it it up.
Rosewoody Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 And John Jorgenson, who kills with Hellecasters, then rips with Maccaferi in Gypsy mode.
