Bruce Blacknight
Can anyone give me the nut width dimensions for the Sheraton 2 and the 50th Ann. 1962 Sheraton model? Are they about the same? I love the looks of both guitars. Would kill to have the '62 but for the price... I'm partial to the slimmest necks.
tweed2
Hey, Bruce. From what I could find, the Sheri II is 1.68" and the '62 RI is 1 11/16", virtually the same. So are the profile and length. The biggest difference would be that all of the Sheri IIs I've seen have Maple necks, where the John Lee Hookers and the '62 RIs have a Mahogany neck. I'm not a Sheraton expert by any means, but thats how it seems to me. Stay tuned, someone may come by and prove me wrong. Whatever you get, post pictures. The '62 RI, with mini hums, will probably be my next guitar.
tweed2
LOL - 1.68 and 1-11/16 are the same, not virtually the same... Actually, 1.6875" is 1 13/16", a slight, but measurable, difference.
tweed2
Um, no. 13 divided by 16 = .8125 11 divided by 16 = .6875 Where the heck did you go to school? Well, you're right on that, typed the wrong number. I should have said 1 11/16", not 1 13/16". So, now you agree with me that 1.6875 inches is 1 11/6", not 1.68"? tweed2
For all intents and purposes, they probably are (the nut widths), someone was just a little lazy. That's the beautity of this place, we can agree to disagree on the little things.
