superjohn13
Hi all, have been following this forum with some interest but only recently registered. I have a '79 'The Paul' which it would seem, in the first 13 years of it's life (before I acquired it in '92), had it's bridge (and possibly also neck) pickup changed. Certainly no complaints with the way it sounds (or plays - it's a wonderful guitar!) but I was just wondering if anyone knew what the bridge pickup actually is and whether the neck is original or not. Few photos (hopefully) attached. Would appreciate any help!
Matthijs
Hi. The neck pickup definitely is the same as on my original The Paul from 1979. Can't tell what the bridge pup is, I'm not an expert. I am going to upgrade the electronics of the guitar myself and I am looking around a bit. The original pickups are really good in my opinion. Dont'know if they are Dirty Fingers or T Tops, till need to do some googling :-). regards, Matthijs Holland
tazzboy
They're Suppose to be T-Top pickups. The Previous owner must have change the Pickups to Bill Lawrence XL500 (I think that is the right number for those pickups) from late 80's early 90's (BTW 1988 to 1991).
