I want to purchase a CJ-165 (the original styles from 2006 or 2007) not the CJ-165 EC, but just wondering for those who own the CJ-165 originals from 2006 or 2007, does it have the 'Ellipse Aura' pickup systems found in the J-200s or CJ-165 ECs? Or does it have the streamlined L.R. Baggs Element Active acoustic pickup system? Like the ones found on the Hummingbirds? Thanks in advance.... Jerry K Posted December 11, 2013 Share Posted December 11, 2013 Mine came with a tiny thumbwheel control inside the soundhole. I don't know if that is Fishman or Baggs. Pretty sure it is not Aura, which has a big control panel if I remember right. I've been meaning to remove the pickups from my maple and rosewood 165's since I never use pickups and the guitar will probably sound better without.
