Rob, I think I remember you bringing that Jubilee to Ol' Fred's gathering at Neversweat back in 2013. Seems like a lifetime ago.
Yes... I brought it there...and also the Dove..... with the addition of the J-50, the Dove stays at home now. I'm putting electronics on the J-50 now.
Talked with Krasi and he swears by the K&K Trinity system. I have the pickups and mic...waiting for the preamp.
If I like it, I'll install a system on the Dove.
The 12-string already has a pickup....and I won't touch the DIF or 'Bird.

I think I pee'd a little...
that is quite the collection of Gibson square shoulders you got there.
Yeah... love the dreads....When I was a kid I worked in a music store, (maybe '65/'66/'67). We got in a Hummingbird....so when the store was empty, I'd play it. Told my wife, if I ever got the money, I'd buy a Gibson Hummingbird. Well... after we were married for a year or so....she bought me a guitar as a present....she KNEW I wanted a Gibson, and she KNEW it was some kind of 'bird' guitar.....so she bought me the Dove! I'd get a standard Hummingbird right now...but I have no room for any more guitars....all 11 of them live in the music room.

Since I've last been on the forum, I've acquired a couple of guitars.
I hope I know how to post photos on here....
First on the left is my original 1969/70 Jubilee (my 'beater)
Second is the 1975 J-50 my staff gave me when I retired last year. It is now my workhorse
Third is my 1979 Dove my bride gave me back in 1980 or 81. Very special to me.
Fourth is the 2003 Doves In Flight. Probably the best sounding guitar I have.
Fifth is the 2010 Hummingbird 12-String. From Leslie...she says it's the ONLY 'Bird 12-String (Right-Hand) made that year.
Sixth is the 2011 Hummingbird Custom Koa. Gets better and better as it gets older and older.

Since I retired, I'm recording my entire repertoire for my grandsons who will inherit all my equipment.
I've completed all my current stuff, and am looking through old chart books for stuff I used to do many years ago.
I am also still putting new stuff up.
Here's one I kinda like:

Good to see and hear you back - the form seems to be fine. Still enjoy that setting too. Who's the black'n'white girl in the center - Linda ?
Yes... that's Linda in the center. It's an original drawing by my brother...gave it to me for my birthday in 1976 (I think), Still trying to figure out how the forum works again....

I haven't been on this forum for a few years.
I have still been playin' pretty regular...more, now that I'm retired!
I'm guessing I can simply paste a link to a YouTube video here?
If there is a better way, let me know.
Thanks

I've gone thru a lot of acoustics the last ten years but I can't imagine ever selling my J-45.
This is not only good.....it makes me envious of your obvious talent!

It's not a single man playing but anyway it's an acoustic perfomance with a songwriter I'm playing with:
Very nice!
You're on the Dove, right?

Great stuff up here! Gibs, Hello Walls, I will...
Here is a recording I just made one track into my iPhone using my LG2. Gordon Lightfoot's Softly
Sal, I heard it yesterday. Good stuff!
That's some good pick in' there!

Another attempt to post something here.
This is a song made popular by Hank Locklin.
Please Help Me I'm Falling.

Very wonderful music... You truly have a gift.
And we all recognize that!

Rob... great job! You have a great voice, and your git is all Gibson. Really swell job
Sal, you might be the very first person to ever say I have a great voice!
Thanks
I posted some stuff early on, (I was actually the first!), but the links got lost, so I went back an reconnected them!

Just because I haven't posted anything in quite awhile.
I heard Roger McGuinn do this on The Marty Stuart Show, and reminded me of just
what a fantastic songwriter Bob Dylan actually is.

I got nothing.

First recording with my new Samson Go Mic. An abbreviated version of Blackbird. Feel free to let me know how it sounds! (the guitar, not my sloppy playing)
NICE job!! I play Blackbird too...it's tough to make it sound good...and you do!

Here's a video of me playing my 1964 Custom Shop J-45 Reissue performing Like a Rolling Stone at a local festival. The guitar is plugged into a chorus effect and then into the stage's PA. Hope you enjoy!
Jazzman Jeff aka Question Mark
Good stuff!

Another home recording through the Neumann. No Gibson, but my self drawn 12-fret, built by the good luthier JoJo in 2010.
Spruce top and rio rose back'n'sides. Old strings half a step down.
Time for a traditional.
Holy COW! I'd buy that in an instant!
Can I PLEASE do a song with you sometime, somehow?
-
BEAUTIFUL guitar...and I like the 'stinger'.
Of course I'm partial to the Dove.
-
I wonder if I bought this, if I'd sound like Leo?
-
Thanks so much for mentioning that, DR, I really like it! Any others that come to mind?
I do it a little differently now
But what I really have to do is figure a way to post the charts for these songs.
-
That was great fun...thanks!! [thumbup]
Anne, thanks... it's been one of my 'staple' songs since the 70's.
My favorite.... She Ain't Rose......

If any of you guys have TAB or chords and lyrics for his songs, I would appreciate seeing them!!!!
This help?

Hey, thanks for the background Rob - San Francisco music scene in those mid/late 60s must've been nusto at times. If you ever get close to the Rockies in Colorado, give me a heads-up and we'll bang out a couple of tunes in the mountain air !
We'll have to get together on my next trip.
We're putting new buses into Denver RTD soon, (probably starting next year), and I usually have to make a few trips there when they get new buses.

Thanks, Nick. That is actually an unopened vinyl or Pebbles 10. I have the CD of Pebbles 11 too...but not on the wall.
There are 2 books there too.... they're both in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, (I actually have the induction letter). Kinda cool...not only in the books but actually on the cover!
There are several oil paintings and drawings by my brother on the wall....then, the old posters, of course. I have several more posters, but no more wall!
