Understood the frustration but nobody here is going to resolve how Italy gets its Gibsons. You’re doing the best you or anyone else not at Gibson could do.

Sorry mate  but  do italian customers  are different  from the Americans ?

how can that be put on Gibson when shipping is causing the damage

I understand the frustration, but maybe set your scope on the right target before you return fire.

I have talked with a dealer "gibson official " and he mentioned  of guitars paid by him and returned back   because of ruptures  and defects , you cannot even order  a guitar  or give him a deposit  for  a model  because  he doesnt  even know  whether  or not that model will  ever arrive , of course  we are not only talking  of cheap models  but even  custom shop models  and i can assure you  that the dealer  which i'm talking about is  serious and  very knowledgeable  in selling  guitars  to his customers  in italy and abroad .

  3. I mean i'm an italian  Customer faithful to Gibson , to date  i have  four of them , problem is that  talking  with dealers here  it looks like they have so many problems   with deliveries , orders , and quality  ,i.e. (new guitars arriving with broken headstocks,  cracks  here and there , etc  i wonder  whether  and when they will get their act together  to satisfy  customers everywhere , it's  not fair  trying  to risk  buying guitars  on line  because the company cannot keep up  with  deliveries  to dealers where  they can finally  check if the guitar is bankable  to their customers .

    Hi!

Thank you for commenting. I think they are very good guitars, you may play a little bit with the tone and volume pot to get some different tone, meaby it would not be my first choice but the neck and tone are lovely really

Very good  indeed , but then  i wonder which is your first choice  ?

Rick does not influence me in the least bit. I make my own decisions on any thing I do or decide. I respect that he is a music educator, and I know he plays and produces, but it is kind of cheesy but nicely displayed, that he is not a touring artist. If I was to go back to the 1970's and tell my past self  what life would be like this in the 2020's. I would not believe it. YT Influencer. Call it what it is an Attention Hog.

A music educator purpose would have to be allowing every kind of musician getting a guitar on his hand that should be his involvement in a signed guitar series

  6. I'm  not questioning the interests of mr. Beato , i questioned the Gibson idea of putting  "smoke screen " cheap   glitty guitars  on the market  with the name of an alleged  benefactor  on them  just for the few  and not for the many , also  it would be interesting  to know how many guitars  Gibson has done for this  charity  cause .

I keep seeing people post over and over again about the price but nobody seems to mention that Rick is not making a penny from these and is donating all proceeds to charity

As a side note, the actual main cost saving factor on a “faded” finish is the lack of grain filler. Gibson has convinced a lot of people that not grain filling mahogany is a good thing because you can “feel the wood”. To me it’s just cheap. A satin finish on filled mahogany would feel much smoother

I get that the idea here was to show the grain under an opaque finish but there is a much classier way to do that.. they could lightly finish unfilled mahogany with Pelham blue then fill the pores with a contrasting color filler. Then clear coat with whatever desired sheen and you have a much stronger nicer effect

Oh gosh  i do not know  whether or not Rick Beato  rakes in some money  on a guitar  that in 2019 costed  800 euros   and now  spiralled  on the "black market " at 3200 euros ,  in  any way  I would urge  Gibson  to produce the same guitar with a gig bag on  a full scale without his name on the tag to give  everybody  the chance to buy it

They really are the same guitars but without a gloss finish or neck binding..   The newer DCs though, although similar have that front control routing with the big pickguards with controls on it.. Just not quite the same thing.. You can pick those up all day long on Reverb for about £700... Like this...

Gibson Les Paul Special Tribute DC 2019 - 2020 Blue Satin image 1

this is the one  that  i have too   and morover  it hasn't got hassle of the four pots  which for me are a pain in the neck  in terms  of practicality , but the  queston is  how much less weighs  the Beato compared to this one

  9. Weird isn't it ?    I live in Italy  in a great city  but  the official gibson dealer  don't have even the slightest clue  on how to order such a guitar  indeed    for them it seems a "GHOST" guitar  that  the company has only drafted on paper .

come on Gibson please  let's be professional ! shall we ?

  10. Hi there  folks ,

I would like to buy  the new Rick Beato les paul special  but i have already got something similar  which  is very good indeed (pic attached )  can anyone out there  enlighten me on the  ergonomic - handling differences about  these two guitars  whether or not there are any ?   thanks

    Hi Marco

They may be the same value and therefore interchangeable.  They should have some sort of code on the case somewhere; if both codes are the same, problem solved and you can use either one for tone or volume.

    If the codes are different then go online and do a search for potentiometer codes;

    https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=potentiometer+codes

followed by the code itself.  Do this for both pots.

Let us know the pot codes if you can't find out anything.  I'm sure someone here will be able to decipher them.

Forum members please correct me if my advice is wrong!

Thanks so much mate your info has been very useful it could definitely be as you say  my luthier has  also confirmed t that .

    Thanks again

  12. all right  guys   :

my problem is  changing strings  in a way  that  they will not slide when i move the tremolo , i know  thare are tricks here and there  but  i would like to be sure  how to take the right steps to do that , also  since  the smelly of rust on the strings is strong do you  advise to use the DUNLOP65 to clean the keyboards once  the strings are out  ?  last but not least  still a couple of things , is it better to change the whole set  or one string at a time  and what about  to soften  the bajo tuners  that seem a bit to hard when it comes to  tune  the guitar .

    Thanks to everybody

    Hi everyone.
This is declared as a crack in the paint. Can anyone judge by these pictures, if this is just a small one or  can potentialy be more serious? How would this effect the value of the guitar LP 2016.
    Thanks again for your expertise.
