  1. I know I’m gutted.. but I have faith that it will all come good.
  2. Thanks for the welcome and hello, jdgm. obviously I’m disappointed and deflated but I’ve played enough good one’s to know that this is just my bad luck as usual 😂 and yes hopefully it will all be sorted.. as I don’t plan on this being my last Gibson.. I do have a 335 in mind for the future and also a J45. But we’ll see how it goes 🤘🏼
  3. Hi All, hope you are all well? Recently bought a new alpine white Les Paul Custom.. without even knowing I wanted one 😂.. I initially went to the shop to try the 50,s, 60’s and a slash models to see which neck would suit me and sound the way I wanted.. but.. none in stock and the only 2 Gibsons in stock were (my) custom and a duck egg standard.. then a few epi’s. So tried them all and obviously loved the sound and feel of the custom (although the bright white and gold seemed a bit look at me kind of thing, which I’m not really keen on, but it has grown on me and love the way it looks now). Unfortunately as per my life goes New guitar day it was short lived as I had realised when I got home (no quite place to play in the dealers so didn’t notice it straight away) that the all the strings where fretting out from 12th to 22nd frets.. and on further inspection I found the neck dipped down after the join and sighting up to the head stock looked like a twisted neck which I thought ok.. possibly just needs to settle into new environment, (I checked and adjusted setup back to factory after a week or so to allow it to settle) so now I’ve had it for just over 5 weeks and have not managed to play without having to adjust tuning and intonation every time as it is out every time I try to play, now the neck seemed a bit more twisted around a week ago so I started to make notes on setup and found the neck was twisting a bit more everyday (nothing to do with environmental differences as I have 6 other guitars in the same room with no issues)… until a couple of days ago I looked up the neck to check and it looked better so I thought yes.. here we go.. but then found a crack starting at a little bit in from the corner of the high string side of neck heel join and running towards the low string side and then round and up the join the along the fretboard join with the body.. I then seen that the neck had relived itself but popping up the side that was low.. this why when sighting, the neck looked better… now I’m worried that I’m going to be stuck with a very expensive (to me) guitar that I can’t play.. after starting to look at this it got me looking at the rest of it and found scrape marks all over the fret binding, gouging around the bridge posts thin covered bumpy paint at the neck join, pressure indents around the mounting holes for the pick guard and a flat spot on the neck with thin paint covering it.. I only found some of these things when I was looking at it with a black light.. All in all it has not been a good experience or feeling for my first Gibson after waiting 20 years and a cancer scare to feel I deserved one i have contacted the store who are sending it to Gibson Europe for assessment but they sounded like they expect it to be non warranty judgment.. surely this is covered?🤯 any ideas what will happen? My apologies for such a long and depressing first post/ introduction… I’m not always like that.. honestly 😂 anyways let me know what’s the thoughts in Gibson land 🤘🏼
